A January of Prayer

| 24 January 2024

Today has been a rainy foggy day. The perfect day to work on things and be productive. Today I’ve recorded a really fun podcast episode (it will come out next week) that will be a part of a series all about social media.

I got some good conversations in with my family about faith, the “enemy”, truth, the world we live in and more! It’s been a wonderful day of conversations.

In my family we like to say that “you know a movie is good if it inspires conversation.”

Yesterday and the day before we watched Netflix’s The King which was brilliant and had a good story (though I will say there is quite a lot of violence that I skipped over and you may not like if you are sensitive to violence. Though if you want a movie where you are invested in the characters and you want to see what at actual battle looks like and how hard  and gruesome it is and how it effects people physically and mentally, then this is a perfect movie to watch). We stopped this a few times to talk about things and have discussions even if it was completely off topic.

Then today we watched Darkest Hour which is a story about Winston Churchill. It was SO GOOD! You really fall in love with his character and who he is and how he stands up for his people and for good! I love stories based on real people and events. I highly recommend this movie. This too inspired many conversations about WW2, WW1, politics, world powers, faith, the power of words, spirits, our true battles and more!

If you didn’t know, my family loves to have conversations. We talk about everything. We want to understand things and learn and understand and challenge each other and ourselves. It’s also really fun!

Anyways, I didn’t connect yesterday. Yesterday was a quiet day. It was also my half birthday and one of my uncles birthday!

I’ll chat with you all soon!

Remember how last time I checked in, I was saying I was helping my mom with a project? Well, she has done it! I’m helping her with some graphic design work on her YouTube channel she is starting up again! Yay! I’ll share a link below if you are interested!

What I read…

  • Psalm 114
  • Psalm 115
  • Isaiah 62

13He will bless those who fear the Lord,
both great and lowly.
14May the Lord richly bless
both you and your children.
15May you be blessed by the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.
—Psalm 115: 13-15

1The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me,
for the Lord has anointed me
to bring good news to the poor.
He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted
and to proclaim that captives will be released
and prisoners will be freed.
2He has sent me to tell those who mourn
that the time of the Lord’s favor has come,
and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies.
3To all who mourn in Israel,
he will give a crown of beauty for ashes,
a joyous blessing instead of mourning,
festive praise instead of despair.
In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks
that the Lord has planted for his own glory.
— Isaiah 61:1-3

For I, the Lord, love justice. —Isaiah 61:8

  1. Yes, I've seen The King! It's very gritty and dark, and I also noticed how realistic the fight scenes were! There were a lot of really interesting things about it! I really enjoyed it.
And The Darkest Night is on my list to watch soon!
