Magical

Like a dream

A fairy book

The first real snow of the season has arrived. It began at night and now as morning dawns, it has blanketed the earth and trees and sparkling white. It softly falls steadily. Each and every snowflake unique and beautiful, completely their own design, each and every one. Designed by God. Each dancing snowflake a piece of art. Creation shouting the majesty, design, and beauty of God—our Creator. God—the designer of me and you and all creation.

Isn’t it beautiful?

All green from the pines disappears into soft white. The kind of white that’s comforting and doesn’t hurt your eyes. It covers the ground in a think blanket. Some autumn leave that have been stubborn still peek through the falling snow—brown and tinged with red. The only color besides the white snow and white skies is brown—deep rich reddish brown. Like coffee or hot chocolate. Like warmth. Like the color of a blanket you’d want to wrap around yourself. Warm. The color is warm to juxtapose the cold.

Prayers…

Todays prayers were thanking God. Thanking Him for the snow. Thanking Him for the beauty in the trees. Thanking Him for sight. Thanking Him for this beautiful world He has created! He is our creator. The best designer and creator of all. The very first. The best of all. How any of us are creative. It all started with Him. Now we have a gift to create because of Him! What a beautiful gift! <3

Verses…

What I read…

  • Psalm 69
  • Psalm 70
  • Psalm 71
  • Psalm 72
  • Psalm 73

Verses that encouraged and stood out to me today!

5O Lord, you alone are my hope.
I’ve trusted you, O Lord, from childhood.
6Yes, you have been with me from birth;
from my mother’s womb you have cared for me.
No wonder I am always praising you!
7My life is an example to many,
because you have been my strength and protection.
8That is why I can never stop praising you;
I declare your glory all day long.
—Psalm 71:5-8

17O God, you have taught me from my earliest childhood,
and I constantly tell others about the wonderful things you do.
18Now that I am old and gray,
do not abandon me, O God.
Let me proclaim your power to this new generation,
your mighty miracles to all who come after me.
—Psalm 71:17-18

5May they fear you as long as the sun shines,
as long as the moon remains in the sky.
Yes, forever!
6May the king’s rule be refreshing like spring rain on freshly cut grass,
like the showers that water the earth.
7May all the godly flourish during his reign.
May there be abundant prosperity until the moon is no more.
8May he reign from sea to sea,
and from the Euphrates River to the ends of the earth.
—Psalm 72:5-8

23Yet I still belong to you;
you hold my right hand.
24You guide me with your counsel,
leading me to a glorious destiny.
25Whom have I in heaven but you?
I desire you more than anything on earth.
26My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak,
but God remains the strength of my heart;
he is mine forever.
—Psalm 73:23-26

28But as for me, how good it is to be near God!
I have made the Sovereign Lord my shelter,
and I will tell everyone about the wonderful things you do.
—Psalm 73:28

“If you want to get warm you must stand near the fire: if you want to be wet you must get in the water. If you want joy, power, peace, eternal life, you must get close to, or even into, the thing that has them. They are not a sort of prize which God could, if He chose, just hand out to anyone. They are a great fountain of energy and beauty spurting up at the very center of reality. If you are close to it, the spray will wet you: if you are not, you will remain dry. Once a man is united to God, how could he not live forever? Once a man is separated from God, what can he do but wither and die?”

—C.S. Lewis
