Hello, lovely friend! 

I haven’t shared this anywhere else. 

Today I am sharing a never before seen sneak peek of my book, A Pumpkin Hill Story!!!! I am only sharing this on my blog. 

I want to thank everyone who has been excited for this story and who have been following this journey with me! One day I want to publish this story but I know it won’t be for a while yet. So until then, I want to share this excerpt with all of you. 

This is a backstory moment between my two main characters. This is from my main guy’s POVs. He tells the moment when he and my main girl became friends. Something seemingly so simple becomes the spark for something wonderful. A friendship being born.” This is the story where this quote was taken from.

A special never before seen sneak peek of A Pumpkin Hill Story 

I remember when we were kids. We had seen each other before, but it wasn’t until second grade that we really became friends. 

    I was jumping on the hay trampoline, it sounds exactly like what it is. It is hay all stacked together and you can jump on it. It is really fun and was always one of my favorite things to do as a kid. 

    All I remember of that day is that a girl with curly brown hair falling in her face and warm brown eyes bounded in and started jumping next to me. We didn’t talk for five minutes. Then she stood in front of me. “You wanna be my best friend?” 

    I remember feeling shocked. I nodded, for what else were you supposed to do when a little girl with such intense eyes comes up to you and asks you to be her friend? Of course, you say yes. 

    She smiled, and her smile took over her whole body. She grabbed my hand and led me to her family’s bakery. She took me to the back kitchen. The whole place was filled with the scent of freshly baked sweets. She took two fresh cookies and gave me one and grinned. “I made this with my grandma. Try it!”

    I tried the cookie, a pumpkin sugar cookie. It was the best cookie I ever had. 

    “I like it when you smile.” She turned around, “When I’m older, I’m going to run this bakery and be the most famous baker in the whole world,” she said matter of factly.

    Of course, I believed her. I still do. 

    Our friendship started that way. Her talking and baking and me being silent. It didn’t stay that way. Some pumpkin pastries later, I could talk to her easily. I started painting for her. I never really showed my art to anyone but grandpa and my parents but now I had someone to share it with. That was what we did. I would make her paintings and drawings and she would make me bakes. It's funny how a friendship can start. Something seemingly so simple becomes the spark for something wonderful. A friendship being born.
