I’m starting a new podcast!

The start of something new…

I wanted to let you know that I’ve been working on something I’m really excited about. I’m starting a new podcast!!!

I’m so excited to share this with you all! The podcast is going to be unedited like we are having a conversation together. I want to talk about my faith and what God is doing in my life. I want to talk about His Word—the Bible! I have been longing to be able to talk with others about my excitement and love for God and the Bible. Where I live there just isn’t anyone to really discuss the Bible with (that is besides my incredible parents and siblings who I love so much and who love reading and talking about the Bible everyday! I’m so thankful for them).

The idea hit me, what if I started a podcast sharing all the things I’m learning and exited about? Then the idea got bigger. I see a lack where I live of people not reading the Bible. It’s not really taught in Sunday school, or youth group, or even most churches I’ve gone to where I live.1 I’m just one girl. I don’t have the influence or the ability right now to make a change in these places. I’m just a girl.

But I do have a phone I can record on. I have Substack that lets you record straight from the website without editing. I have a love for the Bible and want others to read it. What if I started a sort of Wednesday Bible Study? It would be just on the podcast for now but wouldn’t it be cool to read the Bible together?

I will probably do a mix of episodes. Sometimes reading whole chapters, sometimes a verse that stands out, others a personal testimony of what God is doing in my life.

I believe the Bible is true and want to treat it as such. I want more studies in context. I’m not a pastor by any means but I hope to be a friend and read the Bible with you. I’m excited to read and learn with you!

I want you to know that the Bible is the truth. I want you to seek out God’s word for yourself. Read the Bible—not just a verse but the WHOLE THING. Know what God says.

I am only human. I can mess up and get things wrong. In this study I will be sharing my thoughts but know it’s only my perspective. Read the Bible for yourself. Check to see if I’m in line with scripture. I recommend this when taking advice from anyone.2

Anyone can listen but I do want you to know that I’ll be primarily speaking to young Christian women. My audience has been primarily young women from their teen to twenties (YA). Being a young woman myself, this is what I know. I want to encourage young women to study the Bible themselves and fall in love with God’s word. Any worries or doubts or questions you may have in answered in the Bible. If you are looking for direction, that is found in following after Jesus and in following God’s commands. The Bible is everything!

I hope you come along with me on this new journey! Bring your Bible, grab a cup of coffee (or tea) and let’s read the Bible together!

Your sister in Christ, Moriyah

This is specific to the 10+ churches that are within an hour from my house. This is not every church. I know there are amazing churches who preach the Bible and have a reverence for God’s word. The churches in the area are more motivational life coach preaching instead of actually opening the Bible are preaching (my personal preference).

To be fair, these churches do usually share a verse. That is good but I wish we could be taught more. More about God’s word. Read whole chapters together as a congregation. Maybe that is where personal study comes in. You read the Bible on your own and learn from Jesus. This is so important to do but I wish more pastors in my area would lead their flock to deeper relationships with Jesus and a deeper understanding of God’s word. This is my personal preference.

This can be from friends, family, teachers, pastors, podcasters, people on social media, anyone (myself included). The ultimate truth is the Bible. Check us against scripture!
