Part 2 | Read The Bible In 30 Days With Me!

Part 2 | Read The Bible In 30 Days with me!

A Behold Peace Bible Study

Hello friend! Welcome to Behold Peace and the SECOND WEEK of this Bible reading challenge! This Bible reading challenge is called “Read the Bible in 30 Days”!!! I am so excited to continue reading God’s word in this challenge!

This week we will be reading through the rest of Judges (starting in chapter 13) all the way to one of my favorite stories (though all of them truly are my favorite) Job (we will be reading to chapter 26)! We will meet the rest and final judges of Israel, meet a young Moabite woman who shows devotion and humility and becomes a part of the messiah’s family line, see the first king reign and fall, God’s chosen king David reign, family drama and wars, good kings who follow God and peace and prosperity from God blesses the land, evil kings who follow idols and hurt the people and are punished and are put in slavery and their kingdoms torn, the slavery of God’s people, the restoration and rebuilding of the promised land, the queen who fasted and risked her life to save her people, the story of a man who was devoted to God and who the enemy made war with and hurt and destroyed his life (a peek into the spiritual battle) and the conversations that follow as well as SO MUCH MORE! So much happens in these chapters, truly too much to all put into a summary and that is why we now are going to go and READ THE BIBLE AND READ THESE STORIES!

We are in the history books of the Bible and next week we will be heading into the poetic books of the Bible!

FUN FACT: Did you know Job is mentioned in the New Testament? James 5:10-11 “My brethren, take the prophets, who spoke in the name of the Lord, as an example of suffering and patience. Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord—that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful.”

Something I quickly want to say is maybe a silly thing but is something I want to say nonetheless. The Bible is the TRUTH. ALL OF IT IS TRUE. ALL OF IT IS THE WORD OF GOD. THE WORD OF GOD IS TRUTH.

There are some people and some Christians even that do not believe in this. They take some of the Bible as truth and disregard the rest of the parts they don’t like or cannot understand as untrue. This is the wrong way.

The Word of God is TRUE and TRUSTWORTHY.

Psalm 119:160

“The entirety of Your word is truth,

And every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever.”

If we truly believe this then we know that the Bible is indeed true!

From it (the Bible) that is how we should view the word. That is how we should view everything. Don’t let theology, smart sounding people, teachers, pastors, friends, the world or anything determine what you believe in or how you see the word of God. Let God’s Word be the eyes you see the world through. Let the Bible interpret the Bible. Don’t let others interrupt it for you when as humans we get things wrong. The Bible is never wrong. People are.

I’m not against having others counsel you or give you advice on the Bible. I think that is AMAZING! I think having a good pastor and teachers and friends who are devoted to God’s word and who bring insight are an amazing blessing and gift. But don’t rely on their word alone because that could lead you astray if you do not know the word of God for yourself.

Test everything against the Word of God. Seek and search out answers in the Bible. Hold the Bible and God as the highest authority above others because He is truthful and trustworthy. He is the King of our lives. He is God. He is the Creator. He should be the HIGHEST AUTHORITY in our lives. That’s not to go against other authority but it’s to make sure that God is first in your life.

What does the Bible say? Does it agree with this thing I heard or not? Does it line up with what this person said? Does it say to do something different? What does God say about this [fill in the blank]? Follow and listen to God’s word! The Bible is God’s voice and advice and counsel right there for you to read and see and know. Listen to Him! Follow Him! Obey Him! Keep Him first

I invite you TODAY to start in this challenge with me! Let’s read God’s Word and follow Him in what He says! Let’s grow close to God! Let’s lean on Him! Let us open His word today, right now, and read!
