Part 1 | Read The Bible In 30 Days with me!

Part 1 | Read The Bible In 30 Days with me!

A Behold Peace Bible Study

Hello friend! Welcome to Behold Peace and the FIRST WEEK of this Bible reading challenge! This Bible reading challenge is called “Read the Bible in 30 Days”!!! I am so excited to start reading God’s word in this challenge!

Bible Challenge Hub: https://beholdpeace.wordpress.com/read-the-bible-in-30-days-with-me/

This week we will be reading through Genesis all the way to Judges 12. We will see God create the world, the fall of man, the promise of redemption (the coming of Jesus Christ), the beginning of a nation, God’s promises, God’s foresight, how He makes even the worse stories and circumstances turn for good, God’s deliverance for His people, God’s love, God’s great provision (all we have comes from God. He provides ALL we have and for all our needs), God’s laws (His love for His children to keep them safe and set apart as His children), the importance God puts on following Him and the punishments for not, His faithfulness and mercy, Him completing His promises when His people have FAITH and OBEY in what He says, all the way to the first judges God sets to rule over His people (when there is a good leader/judge that follows God and loves Him and obeys Him, the land is filled with PEACE. But when there is an evil judge or one who does not follow God then the land is in captivity, distress, and is in bondage.)

This (following God and having PEACE or not following God and having stress/turmoil/worry/bondage/fear/etc.) can be similar in your life. Are you following God? Are you going after Him with your WHOLE HEART?

Mark 12:30

“‘And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’  This is the first commandment.”

If so, your life will, by following God and keeping close to Him and by keeping His commands, have peace in it.

Isaiah 26:3

“You will keep him in perfect peace,

Whose mind is stayed on  You,

Because he trusts in You.”

Right now, this is an incredible opportunity to refocus on God. Are you struggling in your faith? Are you filled with anxiety and worry and fear filled thoughts (all things that DO NOT come from the Lord)? Are you filled with questions you have unanswered? Are you trying to make a life decision you are unsure about or are you trying to figure out what you are even meant to do with your life? Are you searching for purpose? Are you living a life full of fear? Are you trying to hear from God and are hearing nothing? Are you dry in your faith and creativity? Are you losing hope? Are you facing hardships and discouragements?

If any of these things you relate to or feel like it is something you are struggling with…I encourage you to do this challenge with me. Even if you don’t read the full 40 chapters a day (even if you only get in 20 or 10) I encourage you to do this. If anything I have said resonates with you or you are struggling in any of these areas then I feel like you should try this challenge. You don’t have to, I’m not trying to force you or anything but…I do want to say that if you are struggling with any of these things that there is a WAY and a SOLUTION!

The way is JESUS CHRIST! It is SPENDING TIME WITH GOD. It is GETTING IN GOD’S WORD. It is SPENDING TIME IN PRAYER AND WORSHIP.

There is a fix but that fix can only come through God.

God is the chain breaker. He is the miracle maker. He is the one who CREATED THE WHOLE ENTIRE WORLD and has ALL THE ANSWERS. He is the one WHO CREATED YOU and knows you better than anyone else does or ever will. He is the God of PEACE. There is no fear in Him. Fear and anxiety are not God. If you get close to Him, really close, then those things cannot stay in your life.

This isn’t to say you will never be afraid, it's just that you will not be consumed with fear and it will not control your life. Take fear off from the throne you made for him in your life and put God there instead. Don’t bow down to fear. Fear will keep you in bondage and as a slave for as long as you give him control in your life. Don’t let fear become an idol to you, the thing that makes all your decisions and rules your life. Instead make God the KING and LORD of your life.

2 Timothy 1:7

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Make God the KING and LORD of your life. In Him is PEACE. In Him is BELONGING. In Him is PURPOSE. In Him is LOVE. In Him is SAFETY. In Him in JOY. He is the SAVIOR. The KING OF KINGS and LORD OF LORDS. There is no one better to rule over your life. Remember how I said before that God made you and knows you? God made EVERYTHING. He made you!

Jeremiah 1:4

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”

God made you. He is the one who formed you in the womb. He is the one who knew you even before you were a thought. He knows you better than anyone. Don’t you think that because He knows you and because He made you that He has a purpose and a plan when He made you and that He knows what is best for you? Don’t you think God who is all good has a plan for you? Don’t you think that the God of the universe knows best? Don’t you think He made you with intention? If so, then TRUST in Him. Believe in Him. Follow Him.

Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

If you don’t know what your purpose is, what your mission for your life is, why you were put on this earth…then ask God. Ask Him. He would know the answer because He made the answer. Ask Him. Pray. Be okay to wait on Him and be patient. There is no need to rush. In the time you are waiting this can be the PERFECT time to grow closer to God. Cling to Him. Get closer to Him. Lean on Him.

Jeremiah 29:12-14

“In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. I will be found by you,” says the Lord…

If you don’t know how to do this…you READ HIS WORD. You PRAY. You take time to DELIGHT IN HIM. You PRAISE HIM. You THANK HIM. You WORSHIP HIM. You FOLLOW HIM IN WHAT HE SAYS.

But, you may ask, I haven’t heard from God. How am I supposed to follow Him in what He says if He hasn’t directly spoken to me?

It's easy. You start with the Bible. The Bible is GOD’S WORD written down for us. You need to follow the Bible. Follow God and what He has said in the book He has given us. You have to start somewhere. You start with the Bible. If you show that you can follow His word then when He does speak to you, you will obey. Show you can follow Him and obey Him. Be faithful in the small.

Luke 16:10

“If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities.”

Start following God’s Word today.

I invite you TODAY to start this challenge with me! Let’s read God’s Word and follow Him in what He says! Let’s grow close to God! Let’s lean on Him! Let us open His word today, right now, and read!
