Read The Bible In 30 Days with me!

A Behold Peace Bible Challenge

Hello friend! Welcome to my blog! My name is Moriyah and I am a Christian, writer, podcaster, blogger and the host of this Bible challenge.

Previously we have done a Bible study on the book of Esther called Chosen Favored and Planned by God! That was such a wonderful study and I loved getting to read the Bible and study Esther with you! If you haven’t read it the link is here: https://beholdpeace.wordpress.com/esther-study-chosen-favored-planned-by-god/

I am so excited to announce that I am starting a new Bible reading challenge called Read The Bible In 30 Days with me! Now you may look at the title and think “WHAT? THERE IS NO WAY!” And I am here to tell you that, “YES!!! THERE ABSOLUTELY IS A WAY!!” Is this a crazy challenge? Yes. Will we complete it? Only by trying and giving our best will we find out!

What Started This Crazy Idea?

I first heard about this challenge from my mom. She had heard about it from a pastor who read the Bible in 30 days. My mom felt inspired and started doing the challenge. It was amazing seeing the difference in her as she was taking on this challenge. It changed her. It brought her closer to God. It gave her more joy and revealed things about herself. It was really inspiring to see the change inside of her.

Then, on March 19th, 2024, I heard about another pastor named Francis Chan also doing the challenge. I also found out that as a part of YWAM (youth with a mission) and their Discipleship Training School (DTS), they have their people there training to be missionaries to read the Bible in 30 days as a part of their training. Isn’t that wonderful? People training to be missionaries do this to get closer to God and His word and get Him inside of them!

After having all these stories and seeing these different testimonies I felt SO inspired!

That night I couldn’t get the challenge out of my head. Something as crazy as reading the Bible in 30 days is possible! I want to do this. I want to take on the challenge. Even if I fail…there is no real downside to this challenge. Even if I fail and don’t make it to finishing in 30 days (though that is my goal) I will still be getting God’s word in my heart and mind!

So I decided I wanted to do this challenge AND I wanted to do it as a Bible challenge here on Behold Peace.

For the past few months, I have been thinking about starting a new Bible study over here but I kept not knowing what to do or write about. Once I had this idea it just clicked! This is what I am supposed to do!

Rather than a “Bible study” this will be a Bible reading challenge! A challenge to read as much of God’s word as you can and get closer to Him!

And I decided that I was going to be even more crazy and start the challenge for myself and on Behold Peace all within less than two weeks!!!! If you know me, I am a SUPER planner, so this is a surprise for me. But I feel like this is right!

I am praying for God to give me the strength inspiration and mental capacity to get all that needs to be done before the start of the challenge! I’m really excited to see all that God does in this challenge and in my heart and in the heart of each person who takes on this challenge!!!!

Why I’m Doing This Challenge

What really started me wanting to do this challenge was hearing about how reading the Bible in 30 days is a way people can be trained before becoming a missionary or going on the mission field. That is what really caught my attention.

I am currently in the outlining process of a story I really feel called by God to write. It is a children’s story (those are some of my favorites like The Chronicles of Narnia, The Little House Books, Anne of Green Gables, Winnie The Pooh, and others!). I feel like this story has a special calling on it. A story that is going to be my “mission field” to reach people and children and point them to the King of kings—God—and to Jesus Christ.

I truly feel like this is going to be an important story—even if it is just important to me and my younger siblings to have safe, clean, God-honoring books. All of my stories I hope will be a light for God. All of my books I want to point to Him. I wouldn’t even be able to write or read without Him and what He has done in my life. I owe it all to Him.

This book—The Noble Oath—I know belongs to Him. I believe He has a plan for this story. I pray He will use it for His kingdom. To reach those who need to read this book and for it to be for children and orphans.

I feel like this is going to be my “missionary book”.

If I truly think this is like my “missionary book” then why not prepare myself like I’m going on a mission? Why not train like a missionary—read the Bible in 30 days and soak in as much of God’s word into my brain as possible—before or as I’m working on writing this book? If I’m truly called then why not act like I’m called?

Truly, there is no downside to doing this challenge and reading the Bible in 30 days. Even if I fail and I can’t make it to 40 chapters a day (how much you need to read a day) or I don’t actually finish in 30 days, I will still be getting God’s word in my mind and heart! There is no downside to that!

So this is why I am starting this challenge and my purpose behind it!
